Events 2017

Our next semester meeting will take place in the THEP social room (05-427) on November 15, 2017 starting at 5:00 PM (sharp). As usual we will give you some news about the graduate school and its events, we will have two to three talks by PhD students and there will be fingerfood and beverages during the more casual part of the meeting where anyone has the occasion to discuss and to get to know each other better. Summer Schools

Every other year we offer a five-days physics summer school which will focus on one of the main research fields of the Graduate School.

In 2017 the graduate school's annual retreat took place from September 19 - 21, 2017 in Kloster Johannisberg  in Geisenheim in the beautiful Rheingau valley.

The three-day annual retreats offer the opportunity for all members, fellows and associated members, to get to know each other better and discuss physics in a more informal atmosphere. Students can present their research projects in short presentations followed by discussions. In addition, lecture courses by distinguished scientists from leading institutions will be given, covering fields of relevance to the Graduate School and broadening our physics horizon. Our third international summer school  took place  again in the Benedictine abbey "Frauenwörth" on the lovely Chiemsee island Frauenchiemsee in Bavaria/Germany from September 18 to 23, 2016. Continue reading "Summer School 2016"
